Since 2000, the managers of WealthTrust have completed eleven acquisitions and assembled an affiliate network with assets under management in excess of $6 billion.

M. Rush Benton, CFA
Founder & Chief Executive
M. Rush (Rusty) Benton serves as Chief Executive Officer for WealthTrust LLC.

Mr. Benton founded WealthTrust, Inc. in 1997 following twelve years with Barksdale & Associates, a Nashville-based investment management firm, with over $3.5 billion in assets under management during his tenure. As one of the founding principals of Barksdale & Associates, his responsibilities included marketing, product development and portfolio management. He holds a designation from the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute.

Mr. Benton earned a degree in economics at Vanderbilt University.

 
 
Clinton J. Kendrick
Chairman
Clinton J. Kendrick has over 35 years of executive experience with global asset management and law firms. He is the former Executive Director of Shearman & Sterling, a major global law firm with over $600 million in revenue during his tenure. In that capacity he was solely responsible for the management of the firm's global operations and was a member of the Management Group, the governing body of the firm.

Before Shearman & Sterling, he co-founded Matrix Global Investments, Inc., a leveraged private equity firm backed by Castle Harlan, Inc., that focused on investments in high quality small-to-mid sized high net worth and institutional investment management firms. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers, Inc., responsible for Lehman Brothers Global Asset Management worldwide. He was also, with Lewis Ranieri, the co-founder, president and CEO of Hyperion Capital Management, an institutional investment management firm specializing in mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities. Before Hyperion, he was for ten years President and a Director of Alliance Capital Management Corp.

Mr. Kendrick is a Charter Trustee Emeritus of Phillips Academy, Andover MA, and a Trustee of the Northern Westchester Hospital Foundation, Mount Kisco, NY. He holds a B.A. from Yale University, attended New York University Graduate School of Business Administration (1967-1970), and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
 
 
H. Richard Vartabedian
Vice Chairman
H. Richard Vartabedian most recently functioned as chief executive officer of HSBC Asset Management North America. In 2003, the Global Asset Management Company managed approximately $150 billion. Mr. Vartabedian was one of its five regional managers. He also held the title of executive vice president of HSBC's Bank USA.

Prior to joining HSBC, Mr Vartabedian was brought into Republic National Bank to create an open architecture investment platform for private banking clients. He began his career at Chase Manhattan moving from security analyst, to fund and portfolio management. As division executive of the investment management business he was responsible for bottom line investment and financial performance.

Mr. Vartabedian holds a B.A. from Bates College, and M.B.A. from Babson and attended New York University-Stern School of Business working toward a Ph.D. in finance.
 
 
Holly D. Deem, CFA
Chief Operating Officer
Holly D. Deem has over 25 years of executive experience in investment management and the financial services industry. Her most recent roles included Chief Administrative Officer with oversight responsibility for all administration functions and Chief Risk Officer with responsibility for a comprehensive risk management program for Invesco, Ltd, formerly Amvescap.

Prior to joining Invesco she held senior roles at Bank of America and its subsidiaries. These include; President of Private Investments, the high net worth investment management platform, and President of TradeStreet Investment Associates, the institutional investment subsidiary with assets under management in excess of $85 billion.

Ms. Deem holds a B.S. in accounting from Western Illinois University and completed the executive program for business strategy at the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University. She has been recognized by Money for Women as one of the top 50 smartest women in the money business and received the top 25 women in business achievement award from The Business Journal. Ms. Deem holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) designation and is a member of the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts and the Association for Investment Management and Research.
 
 
Mark Rogozinski

Corporate Development
Mark Rogozinski has over 17 years of experience in senior level positions within the financial services industry. Most recently, he was Chief Operating Officer at Homrich & Berg, Inc., a $1.6 billion wealth management firm, where he was responsible for the direct management of client service, technology, compliance, operations, human resources, and finance/accounting, including the oversight and integration of functional areas, external offices and acquisitions.

Prior to Homrich & Berg, Inc., he served as Chief Operating Officer at Lydian Wealth Management and was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Atlantic Trust Pell Rudman.

Mr. Rogozinski holds a B.S. in finance/investments, entrepreneurial studies and communications from Babson College. He also completed the financial management development program at Raytheon Company, a two-year training program designed to develop individuals for future management positions.
 
 
Michael Henry
Senior Vice President,
General Counsel
Michael Henry's background in the legal and regulatory aspects of investment management and brokerage services spans over 20 years and includes experience on both the industry and regulatory sides.

Prior to coming to WealthTrust, he was the compliance director for Morgan Keegan & Co., a brokerage and investment management firm, as well as serving as an assistant general counsel there.

Mr. Henry holds a B.A. in English and a J.D. from the University of Mississippi.
 
 
Tate McDaniel
Vice President,
Acquisition
Development
Tate McDaniel has more than 13 years of experience in wealth management and private equity. He is a former Associate Director of the Private Equity Funds Group at UBS Investment Bank. In that capacity, he was responsible for contributing to a global team of professionals, helping to structure and raise capital for outside private equity funds through disciplined marketing and business development strategies targeting institutions and family offices.

Before UBS Investment Bank, Tate worked as a Private Wealth Management Associate for Lehman Brothers where his team advised on approximately $300 million in assets. His responsibilities included building the asset management business through successful sales and business development strategies. Prior to his work at Lehman Brothers, Tate held positions at WealthTrust Inc. and Adam Investment Services serving as a Business Development Officer.

Tate earned his B.A. from The University of Georgia and an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. He is an active volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and the Ronald McDonald House.
 
 
Eric Broder
Vice President, Operations
Eric Broder has over 25 years financial services industry experience within operations. He is the former senior vice president of Paine Webber/UBS. In that capacity, he was responsible for overseeing the Nashville operations facility, implementing operational efficiencies and coordinating service improvement initiatives.

Prior to his experience at Paine Webber/UBS, he was partner/director of securities operations at J.C. Bradford & Co.

He holds a B.S. and an M.B.A. from the University of Tennessee at Nashville.
 
 
Justin Hacker

Justin Hacker has over 12 years industry experience within accounting/finance. He is the former president/owner of a transportation/logistics company.

Prior to that, Mr. Hacker held positions as controller of BG&M, Inc., senior financial analyst for Service Merchandise and tax accountant for KPMG, LLP and HCA, Inc.

Mr. Hacker has a B.A in accounting from the University of Mississippi.
 
 
Michelle B. Kennedy

Michelle Kennedy joined WealthTrust in October 2005. Prior to joining WealthTrust, Ms. Kennedy was a vice president of Greenwood Capital Associates, LLC, where for 15 years she was responsible for overseeing the compliance, operations and performance measurement. In addition, she has served as the firm's chief compliance officer since 2001. Ms. Kennedy is also past president and secretary of the Advent User Group, a national investment management back office user organization. She received her B.S. and M.B.A. degrees at Clemson University and resides in Greenwood, South Carolina.

Ann Harris
Executive Assistant
Ann Harris joined WealthTrust in March, 2002 after working 11 years at J.C. Bradford & Co./ UBS PaineWebber. In her last two years at Bradford she worked in the trust department as a trust administrator. Prior to that she worked as a portfolio accounting assistant in the investment management department and as an administrative assistant to the general counsel in the legal and compliance department. In January, 2001 she received certification from Cannon Trust School I.

Lisa Valentine joined WealthTrust in 2004 after 2 years at Deutsche Bank. Prior to that, and upon graduation, she joined J. C. Bradford & Co. as a margin specialist, where she remained for 2 years after the firm's acquisition by UBS / PaineWebber .

Lisa holds a B.S. from Middle Tennessee State University.
 
 
Maria Cruz

Maria Cruz has over 10 years of financial services industry experience. She joined WealthTrust in 2006 after two years at Deutsche Bank. Prior to that, she was with J. C. Bradford & Co. as an order management supervisor, where she remained for five years after the firm's acquisition by UBS / PaineWebber. Prior to moving to Nashville, Ms. Cruz worked for five years on Wall Street in trade management for Merrill Lynch and the American Stock Exchange.  
 
Brenda Lane
Staff Accountant & Benefits Coordinator
Brenda Lane joined WealthTrust in July 2006 after spending the past four years as an office manager in the escrow industry. Prior to that, she worked at Vanderbilt University for three years as assistant to the vice chancellor for investments and the treasurers. Before joining Vanderbilt, Ms. Lane was a legal assistant for eight years in residential and commercial real estate.

Ms. Lane holds a B.S. in Accounting from Lipscomb University.
